On stripping some woodchip wallpaper in one of the downstairs rooms, one section near the window just peeled right off and the wall was soaking! F went straight to work investigating. He dug up the flowerbed outside the window and sure enough under the flowerbed there was a huge hole in the wall!

| The culprit! |

So this is what had caused the wall to be so damp and the sill and the bottom of the sash to rot, so F set about doing a beautiful repair to the wall, sill and window.
| New sill and the rotten parts of the window cut out. |
| Rotten timber cut out. |
| New hardwood sill, spliced in hardwood in frame sections and wall repaired. |
| Original flagstones back. |
The original flagstone were relaid at a lower level with a fall away from the building to prevent rainwater sitting against the building. So we are now nice and dry!
